Mindfulness and meditation: For many of us, they’re just words - things we might think about one day, if we ever find the time. New Westminster residents are being given a chance to make them more than words with two new meditation series.

The New Westminster Historical Society is focusing on photos for this month’s presentation. The society’s next event takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Century House, 620 Eighth St.

What’s happening? The New Westminster Museum is shining a spotlight on New Westminster’s past of fake news, clickbait and alternative facts. The exhibition, which opened in October, runs until April 28.
