Pizza fundraiser and bottle drives support New Westminster Secondary grads

Here’s how you can support NWSS grads and enjoy a yummy pizza

Pizza is on the menu for the latest fundraiser in support of New Westminster Secondary School’s 2022 graduation celebrations.

The grad committee is teaming up with Me-n-Ed’s in Burnaby for a pizza fundraiser. It’s being held on Thursday, March 3.

“Any time is pizza time, whether it’s for a staff lunch or a family diner, dine-in or take-out pickup or delivery – just mention you are supporting NWSS grads fundraiser and Me-n-Ed’s will generously donate 20% of the sales,” said a notice about the event.

If you’re ordering online, write “I’m supporting NWSS grads” in the special instructions box.

Me-n-Ed’s is at 7110 Hall Ave. (just off Kingsway by Highgate Village Shopping Centre) or 604-521-8881.

Last weekend, parents hosted a bottle drive to raise money for the NWSS dry grad event, which aims to provide a night of hypnosis, magic, food, friends and memory making.

Organizers say the fundraiser saw a pretty steady volume of drop-offs at the high school all day on Saturday. By the end of the day, they ended up filling about 30 pallets worth of bottles and other recyclables.

For people who missed the bottle drive and still want to support the Class of 2022, the NWSS dry grad fundraiser has an account at Return-It recycling depots. When dropping off beverage containers, anyone who references #979 can have their refunds donated to that account.
