Sasha Ramnarine is the Liberal Party of Canada candidate in New Westminster-Burnaby. He’s volunteered with the federal Liberals for about five years and is seeking political office for the first time.

The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce is hosting an all-candidates meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Inn at the Quay. The Record is sponsoring the event, along with the chamber and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

New Westminster-Burnaby candidates will field questions on the economy and election priorities at an upcoming all-candidates meeting. The Queen’s Park Residents’ Association is hosting the event on Sept. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m.

A number of observers have suggested the federal election's outcome will be "decided" in British Columbia for the first time, as if the results of the province's 42 ridings will determine which party forms government.
