Love poetry? Want to get into the spirit of Halloween?

Janet “Lady Raven” Kvammen will host this year’s edition of the Poets Wanted: Dead or Alive event on Sunday, Oct. 28 in the backroom at the Heritage Grill, 447 Columbia St.

The session, which runs from 2 to 4 p.m., will feature poetry by Candice James, who will be launching her new book The 13th Cusp. There will also be an open mic, where people are invited to read their own dark, eerie, mysterious poetry or share the work of a “dead poet” of their choice.

Prizes will be awarded for best costume, and admission is free.
