QUESTIONS (in 50 words or less unless specified)

Tell us about yourself. (100 words)

I was born and raised in Europe. Most of my primary education was completed in Greece. I graduated high school from Moscrop Secondary, Burnaby. I attended Douglas College & Simon Fraser University. I've studied, Psychology, Criminology, Accounting, Finance and Economics. I speak four languages. I'm 26, a millennial. I've lived in New Westminster since 2007. I believe more young leaders are needed among government ranks. I'm a small business owner. I'm a firm believer in the public school system and this, along with my passion for education, is the catalyst for my candidacy for school board trustee.

What are the top 3 issues facing the New Westminster school board?

SD40 is in desperate need of some fresh ideas. Teacher recruitment and retention; are we a competitive work environment? Student after school/care programs, can we bridge the gap working parents face? Maximization and efficiency of resources; is it necessary to order brand new school supply kits every year?

What do you think this school board has done well? What have they done wrong?

Thank you to those who arranged to get NWSS project underway. It will now be up to the newly elected trustees to live up to the expectation of managing this fantastic achievement. Also, we'll have to work as a team to ensure all the needs of our district are met.

What is your position on the school district’s involvement in May Day?

Any international celebration is an excellent opportunity for a school to start a conversation with its students. By the time a student graduates from public school, they should have received the chance to become a well-rounded individual aware of a variety of cultural celebration from all over the world.

What three people would you invite to a dinner party? (alive or dead)

Respecting my strong family ties, the first people to be invited to any dinner party are my parents. I also think it would be amazing if the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition joined us sometime. :)
