Why are you running?

I am running for re-election to the New Westminster School Board because these are perilous times for public education. Chronic underfunding and attacks on public education has left the public education system struggling.  As a Trustee, I have been a tireless advocate for public education. I have championed a range of alternative programs.

Top three issues you want to work on:

1) Protecting & improving public education

• Public education is not adequately supported by the provincial government. We need to press for a fully funded public education.

2) Providing programs and services our children need

•  We provide a great education, with neighourhood schools and diverse programs. We must provide children and staff with the support they need, smaller classes and address the complex class composition our schools now experience.

3) Completing our new schools

•  We have opened Qayqayt Elementary are currently building Fraser River Middle School and we have been working hard to meet the Province’s requirements for our secondary school.
