The New Westminster school district has kicked off the final full week of classes with one more COVID-19 exposure notice.
Herbert Spencer Elementary School families received a letter June 19 about an exposure that happened at the school on June 14. An "exposure" means someone who has since tested positive for the virus was in the school on that day. It's the first exposure at Herbert Spencer since April 14.
Exposures in local schools have been trending down since the latter half of May. Here's how the situation has looked at New West's schools since the winter break:
