Recycle your Christmas tree and support local charities at the New Westminster Firefighters’ Charitable Society’s annual tree chipping on Saturday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Canada Games Pool parking lot, 65 East Sixth Ave. You can recycle your tree – or you can just drop by to enjoy a barbecue put on by firefighters, entertainment by New Westminster Secondary band students, popcorn and more.
