Caprice club wins medals at Peters provincials

Synchro B.C. club goes to the podium six times at B.C. championships

Lianna Dall’Antonia led a strong showing by Burnaby Caprice at the recent Jean Peters provincial synchronized swim championships in Kamloops.

Dall’Antonia took first place in the 13-15 girls’ duet with Caprice teammate Madison Michielin at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre last month.

Dall’Antonia finished with a pair of individual bronze medals in the 16-18 figures and technical skills categories. She also shared a silver medal in the 13-15 team competition with Caprice swimmers Michielin, Sohelia Boscarino, Maddison Leroux-Pipe, Sam Volkamer and Sidney Shindle.

Michielin placed sixth in the 13-15 figures, less than three points out of first place.

Volkomer placed seventh in 13-15 group solo, 13th in figures and 14th in technical skills.

Boscarino was eighth in 16-18 figures and 13th in technical skills.

A second Caprice 13-15 team of Danika Miles, Meghan Prenter, Kali Sherk, Jivan Toolsee, Alina Aref `Yeva and Shindle was sixth overall.

Chandi and Sherk placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in 13-15 solo competition.

Sasha Nixon, who won a third-place medal in the 13-and-over novice figures, also shared in a team silver with Caprice swimmers Ella Cheah, Naomi Madokoro, Alexa Panusa, Julia Ramsey, Kate Seo, Lucia Sun and Shindle.

Seo, Cheah and Ramsey finished sixth through eighth, respectively, in 13-and-over novice figures.

Madokora and Panusa placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in 12-and-under novice figures.
