If you think you can name the top three most-searched markets in B.C. over the last 12 months, think again.
In a recent interview with the Vancouver Real Estate Podcast, REW president Simon Bray highlighted three markets that have been standouts on the home search platform, garnering significant interest from home seekers across the province.
Here’s a look at the three markets dominating searches on REW.ca.
Since the pandemic began, REW has seen a 200% increase in sessions by people under the age of 30 years old, and many of those users are searching for properties in trendy destinations like Kits. In his interview, Bray went on to state that Vancouver’s West End and Main Street areas were also seeing a large resurgence in recent months, though it remains to be seen whether that search interest will translate into sales.
2. White Rock
With plenty of townhomes and new developments going up in this city by the sea, White Rock has become an increasingly popular destination for home seekers. With the pandemic accelerating both remote work and a push to the suburbs, White Rock has become an attractive option. Growing amenities, access to the ocean, and some of the best views in B.C. have kept White Rock near the top of REW’s search results pages.
The historic centre of Surrey, Cloverdale’s market has been white-hot over the past 12 months. Surrey as a whole has consistently been the most searched location on REW, with many investors looking at Surrey as a prime location for growth. Townhomes in Cloverdale are in high demand, and multiple offers continue to come in on fairly-priced properties.
