Letter: Here's how careless drivers can stop 'dooring' cyclists

Editor: The dooring of cyclists is totally preventable and never an "accident" - just another incident caused by careless drivers. If drivers adopted the practice of opening their doors with their right hand, most incidents would be prevented.

If drivers adopted the practice of opening their doors with their right hand, most incidents would be prevented.

By opening with the right hand, the driver must turn, scanning across their mirror where intuitively they will see any movement (cyclist) and or pick up the cyclist in their peripheral vision.

Trust me, try it today, a no-cost, best-practise solution.
