Why put up with Liberals?

Dear Editor:

I deeply resent being bombarded with Premier Christie Clark's $15 million TV propaganda campaign.

Every B.C. taxpayer is being ripped off to pay the bill, bored stiff by salvoes of exaggerations or pipe dreams about the teetering Clark government's invented accomplishments or empty promises, yet given no opportunity to turn off the costly program.

The only time in recent years that we had a chance to practice real democracy - dumping the HST - Ms. Clark spent millions more of our tax dollars vainly fighting the will of the people.

If the public were treated in this arrogant manner by a private business, that business would soon be in the tank.

So why on earth do we stand for being forced to pay, at what should be a time of fiscal restraint, for the production and distribution of stuff that would be better used to grow mushrooms?

My old Scottish mother-in-law used to say, "He who pays the piper calls the tune."

Not in B.C., old dear. In this part of the world, we are forced to pay the piper for playing the kind of tune that would curdle milk.
