Why did Crosty lose?

Re: New Westminster Mayor Wayne Wright breezes into fourth term, The Record online.

Mayoral candidates James Crosty's greatest disappointment, as reported by The Record online, was the lack of voter turnout and support from "his" Quayside neighbourhood. Even though incumbent Mayor Wayne Wright lives in this neighbourhood, too.

"To have that kind (lack?) of result" - only 200 Quayside voters reported voted on election day - "spoke to what people didn't do - come out and vote," Crosty was quoted as saying.

Most independent political observers would have a different take.

People were satisfied with the incumbent mayor. Period.

Maybe, just maybe, Crosty's campaign didn't offer positive reasons for a change.

Or maybe voters didn't like the idea of Crosty as our next mayor.
