In responding to Larry Bennett's anti-Layton letter, I'd turn his own words back on him: I cannot ever recall reading anything so partisan, biased and overwrought in my local paper.
In his defence, I guess I should acknowledge his admission of "advancing decreptitude," but it should have been obvious to him that if "most of Quebec voters are seperatists" then: a) they wouldn't have voted for Jack Layton; b) they would have voted for the Bloc; and c) they would not now be part of Canada.
As for our health system, of course not all Americans envy the Canadian system. But you can bet those that can't afford U.S. insurance premiums do. And that's a very large number.
