Dear Editor:
It is now clear that New Westminster is being run by developers and unions, particularly when you compare the disclosure statements of the mayoral candidates.
Not only did Mr. Wright spend three times as much as Mr. Crosty did, but his support came from "a union" (it would be nice to know which union), with most of the balance coming from large developers.
Other than a $1,500 donation from Starlight Casinos, Mr. Crosty's support came from local small businesses and 286 individual donors - more individual donors than any other candidate.
It would appear that Mr. Crosty represents the community for which he has worked so hard, and Mr. Wright represents special interest groups. What a pity that more residents do not bother to vote in municipal elections.
