Dear Editor:
Re: What's in a name? School district asks for suggestions on naming two new schools in city, The Record, Oct. 10.
It seems to me that there isn't much point in naming a schools. I was one of the fortunate students who attended the new junior high and senior high school in the 1950.
We held a contest to name the schools and the names were Vincent Massey for the junior high and Lester Pearson for the senior high.
We were very proud of our schools and then the school board decided to change the name to New Westminster Senior Secondary School or N-Dub for short. It actually should be N-dumb because what was the purpose of holding a contest and then changing the names? The same thing is going to happen to the new schools. So, what's the point?
