The board of education is going to discuss the naming of the new middle school tonight at its committee of the whole meeting at the NWSS library at 7:30 p.m.
The staff recommendation is that the board take the committee's suggestion to name the new middle school École John Robson Middle School. It's the same planning committee that recommended the name of the new elementary school: Qayqayt Elementary. The name comes from the Qayqayt First Nation (pronounced Kee-Kite), also known as the New Westminster Indian Band. The name roughly translates into "resting place."
