Dear Editor:
Tony Eberts has written about "the government supposedly being in 'hock,'" Hector Bremner sneeringly notes, asserting that this claim is false (No, B.C. is not broke, Letters to the editor, The Record, April 6).
But later in the same letter, Bremner notes that British Columbia's debt-to-income ratio is 18 per cent.
Well, if the debt-to-income ratio is greater than zero, then it follows that the debt is greater than zero, which in turn means that the province is in debt, or, in other words - in hock. Hmm!
