What did campaigns cost?

Dear Editor: It is the deadline for our municipal election candidate financial disclosure statements.

Dear Editor:

It is the deadline for our municipal election candidate financial disclosure statements.

I am looking forward to see the amount of expense each candidate discloses for the design, production and distribution of the full-colour brochure mailed out to city residents endorsing the District Labour Council's choice of candidates prior to the election by our current NDP MLA, Dawn Black.

I'm led to believe that this brochure was produced outside our city taking away jobs and resources from the very people those candidates wish to govern.

I am also looking forward to seeing the amount each candidate discloses for the phone bank which called on many New Westminster residents soliciting support for the District Labour Council's choice of candidates prior to election day by our current NDP MP's Peter Julian and Fin Donnelly.

Which, I'm told was done from an Eastern Canadian facility. Again, this was done outside our city taking additional jobs and resources away from us.

In light of the recent "robocall" scandal allegedly done by the federal Conservatives to interfere with the federal election, should the preceding disclosures not be declared or declared with different amounts by the endorsed candidates, then I believe we need to request Elections B.C. to investigate this outrageous interference of a municipal election by both our provincial and federal politicians.
