Dear Editor:
Re: Mayor says let Coquitlam have six lanes, The Record, April 18.
I totally support Mayor Wayne Wright's comments in this past Friday's Record about the Pattullo Bridge replacement project. If Surrey and Coquitlam want a six-lane bridge so badly, let's draw a straight line on a map between the two cities and hook them up together with their desired bridge.
Not too sure how politicians in each of their cities feel by creating a four-lane Brunette River Bridge and a six-lane Pattullo Bridge (at its present location) that they are going to move traffic any better through New West's already plugged streets.
I challenge the three mayors to set up a picnic table at each site, bring some beverages along and watch traffic during rush hour (and at the current one-lane Bailey Bridge the additional train movements) to see what a possible solution to this situation may be.
