Re: Parking ticket upsets city visitor, Letters to the editor, The Record, March 20.
Visitors to our city claiming ignorance in order to get out of paying a parking ticket is no excuse.
I drive to other cities and am expected to know and obey the driving and parking regulations. Why should out-of-town drivers expect they should get off from illegally parking?
Mr. Ender states, "we didn't check the meter" on that particular Sunday because "we rarely do on Sunday."
I'm sorry you say you won't visit our city again (more parking for the rest of us). Please remit payment to the correct address. Chalk this experience up as a valuable lesson learned: meters in New Westminster (and Vancouver and most other municipalities) are operational on Sunday.
