Parking discourages shoppers

Dear Editor: I feel sorry for the merchants trying to carry on a business in New West in regard to pay parking. I have lived in New West 35 years and will not shop on East Columbia because of the pay parking.

Dear Editor:

I feel sorry for the merchants trying to carry on a business in New West in regard to pay parking.

I have lived in New West 35 years and will not shop on East Columbia because of the pay parking. My wife received a $50 parking ticket for a two-minute stop on East Columbia.

Lougheed Town Centre with free parking is a much better option. New West city council should try to encourage shoppers and business rather than try to fleece them for every last cent they have.

And I am not interested in the same old story from the City of New West about parking on East Columbia. They could have free parking with an hour limit and still have the parking cops patrol East Columbia for offenders. Easy and smart, but not in New West!
