No right to push voters

DEAR EDITOR:

Am I alone? With the civic election days away, I wanted to write about an issue that has greatly disturbed me.

First it was Dawn Black, and then soon followed by the federal NDP'ers. Black called, via a recorded message, stating who she supports for city council and telling me to vote for her choices. This call was followed up with political flyers by mail a few days later with her choices for council. A short time after that, it was the other two in on the act.

Isn't this a conflict of interest, aren't these politicians in power to support all the citizens within their constituency regardless of their political stripes?

I don't believe any of them have any right to enter the civic arena by throwing their support behind a select few. Shame on you! If the three of you are so interested in civic office, run for council instead of vicariously supporting your drones in council. As far as I'm concerned, the NDP, provincial and federal, just took a step back to pork-barrel politics and clearly demonstrated why change is such a powerful thing for New Westminster.
