Re: Remembering what matters, Letters to the editor, The Record, Aug. 22.
Valerie McRae's beautiful tribute to Doug Pavan brought tears to my eyes. She has captured exactly in her words the sadness I feel at the loss of this wonderful man. Doug was kind, gracious and generous to everyone who walked into his store.
He was also brilliantly funny and always made me laugh with his stories. Doug Pavan was a one-of-a-kind gem of a man, a bright light in New West and, as Valerie said, "irreplaceable."
My husband and I are among the many who are mourning Doug's passing. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P, Doug.
