Dear Editor
My wife and I recently purchased a home on the Quay and had to visit city hall twice to pay taxes and complete paperwork to ensure things went smoothly.
I have to say that the women at New Westminster city hall are all wonderful. They must really enjoy working there, because each and every one that I came in contact with was friendly and helpful to a fault.
The first time I was there I was loaded up with information of things to do in the city and verbal tips were offered about where to go, and what to do, when and where.
The second time, I arrived early – it opens at 8 a.m. and I was probably 20 minutes early – a wonderful lady got her keys out and took care of me right away. And that meant I was first in line for the cashier.
I also got a quick lesson on Century House, and she was disappointed that the July schedule hadn’t been delivered yet so she couldn’t give me a copy. She said if I returned later in the day, she would have them. She also told me where I could pick one up at other places.
It was just so nice to be dealt with in such a friendly and helpful manner. I’m very happy that we have chosen New Westminster.
