Dear Editor:
Re: Thanks for nothing, Letters to the editor, The Record, Feb. 22, by David Brett.
I would like to reassure Dave Brett that life will go on if the B.C. Liberals don't win the next election. I would like to advise him and the business and natural resource sectors to take a "chill pill." I suspect that John Cummins will not play as worrisome and sinister role as he thinks. And if he does, so be it. The NDP have won and lost elections. Our province is still standing. It's all cyclical -this ebb and flow of left and right governments.
Of course, business and a strong economy are essential to our province, but perhaps it's time for a government who sincerely believes in enhancing at least a few social programs. My advice to those who may want to drive those "armadas of Alberta-
bound U-hauls" if the NDP forms a government is to stay calm and stay put to be of the part of the dialogue.
In the months ahead, the voters will to get to know both Christy Clark and Adrian Dix. It promises to be a fascinating campaign.
Clark and Dix are polished politicians who should do well to present their different (and shared) philosophies. Won't those televised debates be lively ones indeed?
Perhaps we can thank John Cummins for that!
