Re: Residents unimpressed with designs for new Pattullo Bridge, Trending, Record, July 2.
NewCity Dude 2 mentioned that he personally thinks that Front Street should not be a truck route. May I ask NewCity Dude2 where do you propose to reroute the additional trucks from Front Street – Royal Avenue, Braid, and the other routes that are presently being used for trucks?
Questions:
- Are we not all taxpayers where we share the ups and downs in our City?
- Would the Quay/downtown residents want preferential treatment at the expense of others? Personally, I do not think so.
- Are the residents who live on the other routes “chopped liver” to carry the brunt of pollution and noise to save the Quay/downtown residents?
This is an ongoing problem and we need to work together to solve it for the benefit of New West residents especially those directly affected.
