Dear Editor:

Re: Play, ad are offensive, Letters to the Editor, the Record, Feb. 1.

To B. Kendall:

Vagabond Players, nor the poster designer, had any intention of offending anyone. The wine in the play is not sacramental wine. It has not been blessed, does not get blessed and is never meant to be blessed. The play does not include any use of a chalice either. The poster is a work of representational art created by a volunteer to help promote the production.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. It’s an unfortunate situation and we did not mean you, nor anyone else, any disrespect.
