LETTERS: Time to ban leaf blowers already

Dear Editor The world has become not only very busy but has turned into a terribly noisy place. We are constantly being bombarded by noise: SkyTrain, trains, trucks, traffic, machinery both industrial and domestic.

Dear Editor

The world has become not only very busy but has turned into a terribly noisy place.

We are constantly being bombarded by noise: SkyTrain, trains, trucks, traffic, machinery both industrial and domestic.

One of the worst inventions that has cropped up in the last few years that needs to be addressed is leaf or garden blowers.

The constant noise from these horrible machines can be heard non-stop in most neighbourhoods no matter the time or day.

Not only is the noise pollution one of the worst, it has been identified as one of the worst carbon polluters on the planet. Pound for pound. Just get within a block of and you can easily smell the gas.

Quite frankly, I can’t see that any job done by a leaf blower couldn’t be done quicker, and certainly quieter, by a good old-fashioned broom or rake.

Please help end the insanity of these horrible polluting machines and demand that they stop being used, personally and professionally.
