Re: Climbing the stairway to …nowhere?, New Westminster Record, July 27.
Isn’t it refreshing to read the pragmatic opinions of Mr. Puchmayr and Mr. Sarraf with regards to the $200,000 stairs. I respect Mr. Sarraf and his opinion, but this is not a work of art we are looking at. I find it hard to accept more wasteful spending of taxpayers’ dollars by those in charge. Our city engineer, Mr. Lowrie, is telling us it can be moved and incorporated with the parking structure; but at what cost?
We may as well move it to the new Quayside park and build a zip line to Queensborough. Problem solved; the stairway to nowhere connecting with the Q2Q.
