Dear Editor: Re: Bosa towers are a ‘golden’ opportunity for tourism, Letters, Record, July 13.
Craig Barton’s idea to include public access to one of the Pier West towers is a brilliant idea. And it’s not like it hasn’t already been done.
I have visited Q1, in Surfers Paradise in Queensland, Australia. At the time it was the world’s tallest residential building, but not anymore. They have an observation deck with ticket admission prices starting at $14 AUD. And if you are brave enough, you can even take in the view from the outside doing the SkyPoint Climb, where you walk on the outside of the building (prices starting at $54 AUD).
And since we’re talking about borrowing ideas from those smart Aussies, when we finally rebuild the Pattullo Bridge, how about incorporating a Sydney Bridge Climb-like tourist experience (tickets starting at $253 AUD) – they are extremely popular.
