Dear Editor

Re: It’s time for a ‘food bank tax’ in Canada, Our View, the Record, Sept. 22.

I have supported the food bank for most of my working life. I am now in a position that I can and do generously support it. The tone of your opinion piece reads it’s “us against them.”

If your idea of a hunger tax comes to fruition, it’s unlikely I would continue to voluntarily support the food bank.

If you feel you are not paying enough tax, you can pay more. Personally, I feel I pay more than enough considering the squandering at all levels of government. The idea of handing over more money because you don’t agree with their allocation of funding is not reasonable.
