Dear Editor:
Last week, I witnessed an awesome display of generosity from both the Royal Columbian Hospital volunteer thrift shop on Columbia Street and the Treasure Chest thrift shop on Sixth Street.
I went to both shops looking for clothes for a single mom with two young daughters, a one-year-old and a two-year-old, who had been evacuated from the 100 Mile House wildfire with no time to bring much along.
Both shops gave everything they had at no charge. Also a customer at the RCH store overheard what was going on, and she gave a large monetary donation. The manager at the Treasure Chest also gave a large monetary donation of her own money. The trio are staying at her sister’s house in Surrey and are so thankful to all involved.
What a display of human kindness.
