Dear Editor:
Thank you to Donald Dunbar and Geraldine Harder-Anderson for being voices of reason. Actions of the past should not be judged based on today’s standards. It seems ludicrous to think that by keeping Judge Begbie’s statue, and May Day for that matter, we are still colonials. Those days are long gone. Research shows that Judge Begbie did much to help the Indigenous people and acted fairly and judiciously. Hopefully, we will not be judged so harshly by future generations.
