The Editor:
It is so sad to to see our provincial and city officials spending so much time and effort on this homelessness and housing crisis, which has been, and continues to be caused mainly by the policies and actions of our federal Liberal government.
For many years now, the Justin Trudeau federal government, with the consent of the Jagmeet Singh (federal NDP), have been welcoming millions of immigrants to our shores every year, resulting in massive, unsustainable numbers of people, all searching for affordable housing.
And it is not just the housing crisis that we have to worry about.
Our hospitals, emergency services, schools, daycares and many other institutions are all becoming overwhelmed to the point of breaking. Violent and petty crime rates in this country are now soaring in just about every province.
Our provincial government and municipalities are doing the best they can to stem this tide, but until the federal government closes our borders to all, but the most desperate of refugees, and skilled trades people, we will never climb out of this mess we are in.
