Letter: Traffic is about to get worse in uptown New West

Think it's bad now? Brace yourself, says this letter writer.

How many New Westminster residents commute by bike every day? This writer has some thoughts about uptown traffic and cycling routes.

Editor:

It's going to get worse on Sixth. Construction on the skyscraper at Sixth and Princess Street is starting soon.

I wonder what the car traffic will look like on the section in between Sixth Avenue and Eighth Avenue: on one side a construction site with countless trucks and on the other a bottleneck.

Are you sure the New Westminster City Hall definitely works for the people of New West? It seems rather not.

I have one more observation. How many New Westminster residents commute by bike every day? Has anyone ever done such a reconnaissance before proceeding with this bike lane? All New West residents know that this city is set on many hills. Does such a location make the choice of a bicycle for commuting the best choice? I doubt it.

I am also waiting for another winter and snow because I am curious how our city will take care of clearing snow from these bike lines.
