Letter: New West needs to do something about 'disturbing' library plaza

Another resident adds their voice to the concerns.

The situation outside the New Westminster Public Library has led to several letters to the editor recently.

The Editor:

As I read the Record paper often, I'm always reading about petty little problems and complaints. Well, I've got one that matters — what about the issue at our public library? Drug users, dealers selling drugs in the back walkway of the library, just loitering there all day, and I know their names, as well as people sitting there drinking every day, all day, drug dealing all day.

Children walk by seeing this, making the neighbourhood look like East Van. Why isn't the city or the mayor doing anything about this? It's disturbing and gross at the library today. Yes, I know police have ther hands tied and can't do much, but at least the city could do something about this.
