Letter: I had to give up drinking — here's why I don't miss it

Life's just fine with near-beer.

Drinking with friends used to be appealing, but it's not anymore for this New West reader.

Re: Let us decide for ourselves how much booze to drink (Letter to the editor)

I stopped using alcohol when I had my cancer diagnosis and resulting surgeries (emergency, life-saving) in February 2021. (This Friday is my second anniversary.)

Alcohol is not compatible with most of my medications, I'm sure. Don't miss it. Didn't have much in recent years. Probably had way too much on occasions when I was younger.

The "near-beers" (no alcohol) offer many choices now. I hear that the no-alcohol wines are improving recently ... try them.
