Re: Vandalism of New West home reported to Provincial Hate Crime Unit

The executive members of the Sapperton Residents’ Association were shocked and disturbed to learn of the recent graffiti of a Nazi symbol on the home of local Sapperton residents.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this act of vandalism and the use of one of the most powerful symbols of hate, intolerance, fear and oppression, a symbol which has no place in our community and our country.

Sapperton is a community that is welcoming and celebrates diversity, openness, inclusion and peace. Hate has no place here.

We stand in solidarity with our Sapperton neighbours, Steve Makuch and Julie MacLellan, and offer them our full support.

Sincerely,

The executive members of the Sapperton Residents’ Association
