On May 4, the New West Hospice Society is holding their annual event, Community Conversation 3.0, at New West city hall. The purpose of this important event is to engage our community in an in-depth discussion about inclusivity when it comes to end-of-life care.

Can we truly say that we respect the needs of diversity and inclusiveness at end of life? As residents of the city of New West, do we respect the needs of diverse groups within our community? If we are indeed working towards becoming a compassionate city, these are important questions we need to start asking ourselves, and each other.

On May 4 in the lobby of city hall, I encourage all residents of New Westminster to join the conversation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please join us to talk about end-of-life care across cultures, faiths and in diverse groups. Are there gaps? Are there any barriers?

There will be light refreshments, parking is free and a graphic artist will give form to our ideas through pictures.
