Dear Editor:
The New Westminster Heritage Preservation Society would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the homeowners, volunteers and tourgoers who helped to make the 34th annual Heritage Homes Tour another successful sold-out event.
The tour is a testament to the hard work of homeowners who make the decision to maintain, restore or gently renovate their heritage home. Now, more than ever, we must take time to celebrate our stock of cherished old houses.
Take a stroll by 509 Second Street or 221 Third Ave. Their future fates are uncertain with demolition likely looming. We would have loved to have featured them on the tour one day, . but if that's not possible, at least we can take a few pictures and say a proper goodbye.
Again, kudos to all involved with our annual event. Job well done, everyone!
