Blame voters for situation

Dear Editor: For all the outrage in the paper regarding the borrowing of $59 million, the electorate in New Westminster have no one to blame but themselves.

Dear Editor:

For all the outrage in the paper regarding the borrowing of $59 million, the electorate in New Westminster have no one to blame but themselves.

You created the paternalistic arrogance that stems from the council chamber and permeates city hall.

We all had our chance for change last November, but instead we went backwards and re-elected each and every one of them. Just shows it's the same old business in city hall over and over again.

By your decision not to vote, you have created a puffed-up mayor and council that believe they're more important than you, the electorate. There's a word for that - oh, yeah, it's arrogance.

These jackals wouldn't survive in any other political arena. No one would have them, yet they thrive in New West to play shell games with our city finances and dictate to us as if they were, well, dictators. Now they are going to do as they please, regardless of the opposition from you, the taxpayer.

Did you forget? You pay their fat-cat wages too. The next change we have to fix this is in three-and-a-half years, if we aren't bankrupt by then. Sign (James) Crosty's form. You owe it to yourself!
