B.C. selling out for Big Oil

Dear Editor: Any hope that our premier might act decisively in the Northern Gateway pipeline boondoggle with principle and responsibility has been drowned in a sea of greed and cowardly politicking.

Dear Editor:

Any hope that our premier might act decisively in the Northern Gateway pipeline boondoggle with principle and responsibility has been drowned in a sea of greed and cowardly politicking.

Instead of moving to protect the hopes and wishes of British Columbians, Christy Clark remains sitting on the fence, keeping the gate open to the time bomb exploitation of Big Oil, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and China.

The First Nations in the path of the toxic tarsands scheme are opposed to the pipeline and the huge increase in oil tanker traffic but instead of standing up for them, she asks only that they have a chance to participate in what to them is inevitable disaster by a bungling pipeline company messing with a petrobrew that's impossible to clean up.

First on Clark's list is pushing for a bigger piece of the action, which of course outrages greedy Alberta. What the greed-mongers fail to realize is that a foul smelling deal aimed at generating fast, temporary money is a gun aimed at the heart of what is truly valuable: a veritable treasure store of pristine rivers, wilderness, wildlife, fish and beauty that can help sustain whole generations to come.

Madam Clark has made B.C. a whore. All that's needed now is to settle the price. Can somebody please tell me why governments have environment ministers?
