Artists upset over Timber Wharf

Dear Editor:

Greg Magirescu and Sloan Elphinstone approached New West Artists last year asking that we make a presentation for painting Timber Wharf. New West Artists presented them with a detailed plan for painting the surface of Timber Wharf with a huge variety of ideas.

I spent many hours and research designing a labyrinth; others designed interesting paths and chalk colouring areas for adults and children.

Please give us credit for all of our ideas, which the city seems to be using. We were going to paint

it, but it was suggested that engineering would be responsible.

Then nothing happened. Now we read that our ideas indeed are accepted, but not acknowledged and especially not paid for.

Artists are expected to do too much for free - and having our ideas basically stolen is an insult.

Greg assured us that we would be paid if our ideas were used. Some kind of response from the city would be appreciated.
