The love locks have been a community favourite at the pier. Residents are invited to share their stories and memories of Westminster Pier Park in a special #newwestgoesviral session on Twitter tonight.

Got a favourite memory from Westminster Pier Park?

You’re invited to share it with your neighbours and fellow community members at a special #newwestgoesviral session on Twitter tonight (Monday, Sept. 14).

The Twitter chat, which starts at 8 p.m., was launched by New West resident Ruby Campbell as a way to bring the community together virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. The nightly social media chats ran for several weeks early in the pandemic.

Now, in response to the devastating fire that tore through the east end of Westminster Pier Park on Sunday night, residents are invited to come together once again to share their favourite stories, memories and photos related to the park and all it has meant to local residents. Whether your memories are about the playground, the love locks, the festivals and concerts, the waterfront walks, the WOW Westminster statue or the views, be sure to share them tonight.

Use the hashtag #newwestgoesviral to take part on Twitter.
