The New West Police Department announced charges against Tucker on May 9 after a nearly yearlong investigation. The department’s major crimes unit began investigating Tucker in connection with images of child sexual abuse, according to a press release from police at the time.

Police obtained a search warrant, and on Dec. 13, 2017, officers searched Tucker’s New Westminster home.

Tucker, who was 46 at the time of his arrest, was facing three child pornography charges.

According to court records, Tucker was sentenced to 14 months for one count – along with three years of probation, a DNA order and a five-year prohibition from being near children or in places where children could reasonably be expected to be.

Tucker was not detained between his arrest and trial, meaning he has no credit for time served, said Dan McLaughlin, B.C. Prosecution Service spokesperson.

He was also given a total discharge for another count of child pornography.
