Unifor says striking chocolate bar factory workers reach deal with Nestlé

TORONTO — The union representing more than 470 striking workers at a Nestlé Canada chocolate bar factory says it has reached a three-year tentative agreement with the company. Unifor Local 252 workers have been on strike since May 1.

TORONTO — The union representing more than 470 striking workers at a Nestlé Canada chocolate bar factory says it has reached a three-year tentative agreement with the company.

Unifor Local 252 workers have been on strike since May 1.

They produce Kit Kat, Aero and Coffee Crisp chocolate bars as well as Smarties at the factory in Toronto.

The union say says the deal includes improvements for contract employees as well as wage increases and benefit improvements.

The tentative deal was reached late Wednesday night. 

Unifor says the new contract will be voted on over the next two days.
