New Westminster field lacrosse was four-for-four at the Langley Events Centre fields last weekend.

The under-19 boys were bronze medallists in both Tier I and 2 play at the B.C. Lacrosse provincial championships, while the u-12 girls won gold and the u-15 girls a third bronze at the provincial tournament at Willoughby Community Park field house on Sunday.

The New West u-12 girls defeated Burnaby/Ridge 8-3 in the gold-medal final.

Caitlyn Croxen was named the game MVP, while Emily MacKinnon and Katie Davies both scored a pair of goals for the up-and-comers.

Jayden Wallace, Sydney Andrews, Maddie Lemieux and Priya Sidhu chipped in with single markers for the Royal City team.

"This was their first one. It's pretty exciting," said New West u-12 coach Sarah Jones. "They had an amazing weekend, especially in the gold-medal game."

Playing with a number of nine-year-olds, Jones was happy with how the entire team worked towards a perfect 5-0 record at the tournament

New West opened with a 9-7 win over Langley. The team then marched past Burnaby/Ridge before edging Coquitlam 7-5 and Port Coquitlam 8-4 to advance to the championship final.

Heidi Sweeney had a great win on a draw, while Jaya Sidhu had an amazing individual effort on a loose ball, said Jones.

Sydney Stromberg, Hannah Dewar, Crystal Singh, Craceyn Dean, Kaylee Colville and Jessica Soenen also provided strong defence and quick transition for the u-12s.

"Everyone really contributed. It's a really nice way to end the season," added Jones.

The u-15 girls avenged an earlier loss in pool play to Langley with a 12-8 victory over the Fraser Valley side in the bronze-medal final.

Coquitlam slipped past Ridge 10-9 to take the u-15 gold.

In the u-19 boys' provincial championship, New West rode a 2-2 record to the bronze medal in Tier 1.

The Tier 1 team doubled Coquitlam 10-5 in the consolation final after losing a one-point match earlier in the competition. Langley defeated Nanaimo 13-8 to take the gold.

In the Tier 2 division, New West got by Penticton 11-8 to win bronze.

Victoria slipped past Ridge 12-11 in the Tier 2 championship final.

New West's Tier 1 team got by Nanaimo 11-10 and Delta 11-7 before losing close games to both Coquitlam and eventual champion Langley.

The Tier 2 team sported a 3-1-1 overall record at the provincials.

The team's only loss was an 8-7 defeat to Victoria.

New Westminster opened with a 13-4 victory over Prince George and followed up with an 11-4 win over North Shore. They also drew 9-9 with Ridge.
