Wings soar to new levels at Surrey meet

Slotten finished first in floor exercises, second on the uneven bars, third on the balance beam and ninth on the vault to win the overall division title.

Raha Dang placed third in the Level 2 open allaround with consistent placings in all four disciplines, including a pair of third-place finishes on floor and vault. Dang also came fourth on the beam and fifth on bars.

Right behind was Wings' teammate Emma Crooks, who placed fourth on vault, fifth on floor, sixth on beam and eighth on bars.

Hailey Massingham rounded out the Wings' very strong showing in the Level 2 open, finishing sixth overall. Massingham had a personal-best fourth on vault and fifth on bars. She also placed in the top-10 on floor and beam.

Wings' clubmates Nikki Nummela and Savana Fogh also had top-10 placings. Nummela was third on bars and eighth on vault, while Fogh placed third on floor.

Megan Heron was third on bars and sixth on floor in the Level 2 novice category.

In the Level 3 novice division, Alora Jones placed second in the all-around, beam and floor, and fifth on vault.

Emily Lago was fourth in the Level 3 open allaround. Lago also placed second on floor, fourth on beam and eighth on the vault.

At Level 4, Joanna Wong was seventh on vault and 10th on bars in the open category.

Wings beginners also showed their promise in the Level 1 tyro class.

Gina Rimar won the allaround, taking top spot in both the bars and beam, while placing fourth on vault and fifth on floor exercises.

Kelsey Longeau was runner-up, winning the vault and tying Rimar on beam. Longeau was second on bars and seventh on floor.
