Javelin thrower Curtis Moss inched closer to the Olympic A standard needed to earn a spot on Canada's Summer Games team.

Moss threw the javelin 81.21 metres to win the men's final at the Victoria International Track Classic on June 12.

The throw was a personal best for the 25-year-old Burnaby Central Secondary grad, who had PB'ed earlier in the week, winning the Harry Jerome meet with a B standard throw of 80.43m.

Moss needs to throw 82m to earn an A standard to be considered for selection to Canada's national track and field team for the London Olympics.
